KURSI | FURNITURE
Kursi is an Arabic word for throne, a Hindi and Urdu word for chair, and an Israeli national park in the Golan Heights.
I took Urdu script and revived it in the form of products to cherish and pass down from generation to generation, just as our heritage is perpetuated indefinitely.
I designed furniture inspired by calligraphy or khuskhati, an art on the verge of extinction. Materials: CNC, laser-cut wood and 100% upcycled upholstery.
